The Story

Super-sized flowers up the size of basketballs on strong stems that won’t flop over like the classic ‘Annabelle’ hydrangeas. White flowers blush into a jade green, which persists through frost. Excellent for drying to use in Autumn and Winter decorations.

For the largest blooms and healthy plants, site your Incrediball hydrangeas in well-draining soil in full sun~ 6 or more hours per day. Smooth hydrangeas like Incrediball are among the easiest and most reliable hydrangeas for cold climates like ours. Simple pruning tip: In early spring, just as the new growth begins to emerge on the stems, cut the plant back by about one-third its height. Though not needed you can apply a granular fertilizer like a rose fertilizer.

WE DO NOT SHIP HYDRANGEAS. ORDERING HYDRANGEAS IS POSSIBLE HERE ON OUR WEBSITE BUT THESE ARE FOR PICKUP ONLY.

CARE & PRUNING TIPS:

For the biggest, most abundant blooms and strongest stems, plant where it gets at least six hours of sun each day (warmer climates can get away with a bit less). A good layer of shredded bark mulch helps minimize water loss during hot summers. .As for pruning, cut the entire plant back by about one-third its total height each spring, just as the new growth begins to emerge on stems. This serves to build up a strong, supportive, woody base while also encouraging abundant new growth for plenty of flowers. If you wish to fertilize, an application of a rose fertilizer in early spring, once the soil has thawed, is sufficient.

Note: The first 2 years, Incrediball hydrangeas establish a strong root system. They will produce beautiful blooms in these initial years. However, it’s not until the 3rd year that the massive mophead flowers appear.
